The Fermi Telescope sees the first gamma ray pulsar. This pulsar is radio quiet and the usual radio telescopes cannot detect this one pulsar emitting only light in the gamma frequencies. Jolly good!
So what's with the stellar corpse thing? Well, a pulsar is a star at the end of its life, after a final collapse of a star it becomes a neutron star, or if it is big enough, a black hole. A neutron star that pulsate is called a pulsar. :-)
